‘We are delighted to open a new hub in the region. Bishkek has a great geographical location, being the central delivery point for the whole region, which enables excellent delivery options from China, Europe, and North America. The new hub in Central Asia will allow Omniva to transport international parcels more efficiently compared to the current logistic set up. In addition, it will also reduce our ecological footprint,’ said Sven Kukemelk, VP International Business in Omniva.
Kukemelk added that Central Asia is a future growth area where Omniva sees a great potential. „In the next ten years, we believe that e-commerce will triple in the area and our hub is conveniently situated to serve these emerging markets,’ said Kukemelk.
The company focuses on expanding international cooperation in many regions. Omniva has also started cooperation in Oman and recently opened a new hub in Muscat.
Omniva is an Estonian postal operator that operates commercial networks in Latvia and Lithuania. The international business of Omniva is a front-runner in cross-border e-commerce in the Baltics, Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia. The current hubs are operating in USA, the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, and Oman, with Kyrgysztan starting operations in September.
